DYNAMIC EQUILIBIRUM - A COLLECTION OF CERAMIC SCULPTURES BY APHRA O'CONNOR

Titled Dynamic Equilibrium to reference Piet Mondrian’s thoughts on the unification of form. The bringing together of colour and form in coadunation and absolute equivalence is critical in allowing unifying sculptural forms and drawn patterns in a new dimension that is both flat and solid. The titles are synonyms of the physical description of the pieces; this translation of language is used to give the works the nuances of science fiction writing, hinting that the pieces hail from a different land entirely.

About the artist:

Aphra was born in Whitby, North Yorkshire and has always had a fascination with collecting forms that she considers as 3D collages. O’Connor recently graduated from the Royal College of Art with a Masters degree in Ceramics and Glass and from Wimbledon College of Art in 2014 with a BA in Sculpture. Her sculptural background allows her to visualise clay in a manner that is outside of the craft pathway; with the aim of extending her designs into collaborative and inclusive installations.

Available individually or as a collection.
